Dr. Matthew Raphael Johnson

Dr. Matthew Raphael Johnson was Deanna’s guest this afternoon who talked about his past and current work. Dr. Johnson is the author of several books, the newest being The Foreign Policy of Mass Society: The Failure of Western Engagement in the Islamic World. His other books include Sobornosti: Essays on the Old Faith; Heavenly Serbia and the Medieval Idea; Orthodoxy, Autocracy, Nationality: Lectures on Medieval Russia; The Ancient Orthodox Tradition in Russian Literature; The Third Rome: Holy Russia, Tsarism and Orthodoxy; and Russian Populist: The Political Thought of Vladimir Putin.   1. Well well well, there’s another useful idiot for you there who has swallowed the pro-Putin propaganda hook, line and sinker. I don’t know why Deanna keeps on inviting them, whether she is just having fun letting all these fools expose themselves for what they are in public, or whether she has succumbed to the Putin-worshipping propaganda herself. I hope it is the former.

    Anyway, as someone who is living in Russia and being Deanna’s contact in Russia that she mentioned that she corresponded with during the interview, I can say that the guest on this program knows NOTHING about Russia and most of the things that he said about Russia that put it in such a positive light are simply not true. For instance, that the public criticism of the Jews in Russia is allowed and is even commonplace in the Duma (the Russian Parliament). This is simply ludicrous, as anyone who has done this has either ended up in jail, had their career destroyed, or had to battle legal suits for extremism. There are plenty of examples of this, with Colonel Kvachkov and Boris Mironov being just two of the most famous. Many bloggers have had their blogs closed for this reason, and something like Deanna’s program would be unthinkable in Russia and would be closed down in an instant.

    It is also not true that there is no Holocaust denial law in Russia. Holocaust denial law is part of a general law against the historical revisionism of WW2 and the guilt of the Axis powers for it (The Law Against Rehabilitation of Nazism, article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). Anyone who doubts this can go to the below Wikipedia article and see for themselves that Russia is among the list of countries with laws against Holocaust denial.

    The law establishes fines and imprisonment for people trying to revise the results of WW2 and criticize the Holocaust. As for Roman Yushkov, a Russian blogger who was acquitted last year for the Holocaust denial charges, he wasn’t really charged with anything serious and his acquittal can’t be taken seriously. His “crime” was that he simply posted a link to someone else’s article on his blog. When he was acquitted, people made much of it, whereas in fact there was very little to it, if anything. But he was sentenced under extremism law for another thing, which was an article that he published in which he criticized the former Soviet republics for being nothing but burden on the Soviet economy and for attacking other races.

    I had to laugh about his description of the incident where Putin publicly reprimanded Oleg Deripaska, an oligarch who owns RusAl, the Russian Aluminum giant, for allegedly trying to shift production overseas, demanding his pen back and all that. And you believe that?? This was all a show for public consumption, for goodness sake! How can you be so gullible people?? You don’t believe what’s shown to you on TV! They show you these things on TV, while the Jewish oligarchs close to Putin continue to steal billions and billions! Just look at the Rothenberg brothers who are brazenly stealing billions on government contracts.

    If the guest of this program is such a fan of Russia and Putin, why doesn’t he come to Russia and start a blog where he would criticize the Jews and deny the Holocaust, and see how long he remains free. It’s easy to do this from the safety of the US, where it is still legal.

    All this propaganda about Putin being great and Russia being the Third Rome is nothing but a Jewish psyop, and this program’s guest has fallen for it.
