Thank you for a great interview! Deanna raised an interesting point at about 54:00 mark about MacArthur shipping the Philippines’ gold to Australia prior to surrendering the Philippines to the Japanese. I wonder if this has anything to do with the famous story about the looted gold that Japan supposedly accumulated during its occupation of Asia in WW2 and then buried in the Philippines in a system of hidden underground caves? This story is described in a book by Peggy and Sterling Seagrave. How much truth is there in this story? The Seagrave’s book is a fascinating read, that’s for sure.
